Our charming Perigordain home nestles into the tranquil countryside in Perigord Vert - an area renowned for its natural beauty in summer and winter alike. Each room has French windows with views over open countryside. We are home to horses, dogs and a variety of wildlife which lives in surrounding forests and in our lake! We are approx a 2hr. drive from Bergerac airport and only 50mins.from Limoges - airport delivery and collection can be arranged. Thiviers railway station is approx. 20mins drive as is St. Yrieix station. Our immediate area is made famous by it’s connexion to Richard the Lionheart. There are many, well signposted walks and cycle paths to suit all abilities. Nearby Jumilhac Le Grand has a fine chateau steeped in history. We also have a man-made beach a short distance away with watersports and bar/restaurant. Perigueux, the capital city of Dordogne, is approximately 40 mins. drive away. The city sits on the river L’Isle. The streets of Perigueux boast a variety of shops and restaurants and the architecture of the old town, including the cathedral, is breathtaking. 10mins. from the house takes you to Excideuil – a small market town which hosts a street market each Thursday. The French National Stud and famous Pompadour racecourse and cross country course is 20k. away ( Please request details of Equestrian courses/holidays and Horse Racing weekends).
